Homerun Hinck

When Hinck is in the outfield he never pays attention. He is more intrigued by putting as much grass as possible in his mit, than by trying to catch the ball and make a play. :)
Hinckley loved being up to bat.

He looks like he's about to catch a ball, but he's not. He's "fancily" dropping MORE grass into his mit! :)

Here's Hinck in his "Green Dragons" baseball uniform.

This summer, Hinckley started machine pitch. Its much more exciting than t-ball ((both for those playing and those watching!)) and we're excited for Hinckley to be moving up in sports. Although he doesn't like playing out field, he loved being up to bat and made some good buddies during baseball season.
At the beginning of the season, the team was trying to decide what to call the team. Hinckley suggested that since they were all wearing green uniforms, that the name Green Dragons was pretty fitting. The team took a vote and his name was chosen! He was pretty excited about that.
One of the coaches Fred, asked Hinckley what his nickname should be while batting and Hinckley decided that "Homerun Hinck" would be fitting for him. From then on that was what the coaches, and team mates referred to Hinckley as. Although he never actually got a homerun, he sure did have a lot of fun trying! He got better and better with every game.
He got a good piece of the ball quite a few times and started off running to 1st base quickly, but the farther in the season he got, the slower he ran. Finally Marissa asked him why he was running so slow and his reply was "Well, I know that I have been slow at running but its because I have switched from a St. George Life to an Idaho Life." - I guess he means things are slower paced here than in St. George, but none of us expected that response! After Marissa told us that, we began shouting "St. George Life, St. George Life!" every time Hinckley hit the ball and was running to 1st base.
At the end of the season, Hinckley gave everyone a little trophy to express his appreciation and excitement for next season. The trophies were a big hit with all the boys and now everyone is excited for next season!
GO GREEN DRAGONS!

Much love,
