Jedi Knight vs Darth

Its always quite difficult to get Max to {eat a decent meal}. He is at that age where he will take one bite of dinner and then claim he is "full". He gets too involved in playing that he rarely takes time to eat a full meal. He would rather graze than sit down and take time out of his playing schedule. We have been trying little methods here and there to get him to eat larger portions and so far nothing has worked. He is too stubborn.
Tonight for dinner we had funeral potatoes, green bean casserole, ham, and rolls. All Max wanted to eat were the rolls and grated cheese. We put very small portions of green bean casserole and funeral potatoes on his plate and prompted him to try them, ensuring him that he would like them but he refused. We even told them there was cheese in both dishes but after digging through them and not finding the kind of cheese that he thought should be there, {he would not eat}.
Now there are two things that Max is VERY passionate about. They are: pirates and Star Wars. We hear about these two items multiple times in the day and he is always dressed as one or the other and doing something that has to do with either of them. -- Mars and I started talking to Max about Jedi Knights and what makes them Jedi Knights ((i.e. light sabers, Force fields etc.)) and then we told him to pick which {Star Wars character he would like to be}. After running through the characters a few times, he finally picked "Obe Kenobi" ((Obe Won Kenobi)). We told him that one of the things that made Obe Kenobi a Jedi Knight was that he ate his green beans and potatoes every night and that made him strong and helped with his Force. He smiled and started getting excited. Then we went on to tell him that Darth Maul was so ugly and bad because he NEVER ate his green beans and potatoes. We told Max that Darth Mall was red and black because he was {mal-nutritioned} and that he never ate his green beans and potatoes. Having heard that, Max replied "I want to be Darth Maul".
Smart little fart had again figured away around eating his food!
((We finally got him to eat them by telling him that Jabba The Hut was the one who really never ate green beans and potatoes and then we told Max that he was starting to look like Jabba The Hut. In a matter of minutes, the green beans and potatoes had been eaten and our little Maxwell was restored!))

Much love,
