DINOSAUR DAY!

Today was Dinosaur Day!
((Every once in awhile, I will do "theme days" for the boys. Its usually on a Friday and gives Hinck and mom a nice break from working hard at school all week, but sometimes, it comes on special random days. The boys never know when its coming, or what the theme will be, but they always know it will be a great time! Thus far we have had "Aloha Friday", and "Pirate Day".)) Since mom was going to be gone most of the day ((attending meetings for her new calling... 1st Counselor in the Primary presidency!)) we decided it would be a good day to throw a "theme day".
Over the past little while my mom and I had been collecting things for Dinosaur Day and the boys have been getting anxious trying to guess when, and what theme the next "theme day" was going to be. - When they found their invitations this morning, boy were they excited! Max screamed so loud I think your dog ((or cat)) may have heard it! :)

My mom and I found these neat miniature digs for the boys to do, so for most of the afternoon, we dug and dug and dug!
Finally, the bones started to show themselves, and both of the junior paleontologists, had found all the pieces to their dinosaurs!

After the dig, we were all quite hungry so we had dinosaurs for lunch!... Well dinosaur shaped sandwiches anyway. Then we painted ceramic dinosaurs and watched The Land Before Time. It was a lot of fun. - The boys always get so much out of it, and learn a lot too. Theme days are definitely a favorite in our house!

Much love,
The Petralias
"... by small and simple things are great things brought to pass." Alma 37:6

You guys should do an ancient mayan/aztec day. That was one of my favorite things to learn about in Elementary school.
